I have the blessing of my mother, whose life and girlfriend gang have informed everything I’ve written. We have at least twice the amount of material to write about than if our childhoods had been seas of tranquility - which means that this book is funny as hell and also no picnic. For those of us whose childhoods sometimes looked like hurricanes that nobody bothered to name are double winners in this life. (Gender update by me.)
